Matthew Croke
Widely recognised for portraying the title character in the West End Production of Disney’s Aladdin, Matthew Croke is no stranger to the stage.
The Sheffield born singer, dancer, and actor has performed in several major roles, including West Side Story’s Tony, Wicked’s Fiyero, Funny Girl’s Eddie, Chicago’s Amos Hart, Grease’s Eugene, Singin’ in the Rain’s Don Lockwood, Cinderella’s Prince Charming and Larry in A Chorus Line, just to name a few.
Matt has also starred at The Royal Albert Hall with the Alpha Club - “The Best Of the West End” performing alongside Ruthie Henshall, Ramin Karimloo, Ben Forster and Kerry Ellis, and also starred in Paul Taylor Mills and Arlene Phillips new production of ‘Hair’ in 2021 taking the lead role of Berger at The London Palladium.
Croke trained at the Maureen Law Theatre School and the Sharon Berry School of Dance in Sheffield, and then at the prestigious Laine Theatre Arts College in Surrey. He credits his sister, Rachel Croke, as inspiration for his love of musical theatre, and the brother sister duo founded and co-principal RMC Academy of Theatre Performance in Sheffield.
Matt is also a regular guest teacher at colleges across the UK and has lectured and adjudicated for the IDTA and BATD at numerous events including the All England Finals at Sadler’s Wells and the TDCI British Scholarships.
Matt was recognised for his talents in 2018 when he won the prestigious Carl Alan Performers Award. In this year, he also released his debut album ‘Only Dreaming’ which featured the talent of his Disney family - Hiba Elchikhe, Trevor Dion Nicholas, and Nick Afoa and musical hits from Aladdin, Big Fish, West Side Story, Sweeny Todd, Moulin Rouge, the Wiz and more!
He was also very honoured to be part of the original cast recording of Webborn & Finns The Clock Makers Daughter, and in 2021 appeared on ITV’s The Voice UK performing his rendition of Moulin Rouge’s ‘Come What May’ successfully landing him a place on Olly Murs’ team. He has also appeared on television and lent his voice and talents to numerous productions with ITV - most recently ITV’s Coronation Street, and performed regularly on The Royal Variety Performance. Croke is currently travelling the world entertaining thousands with his one man show ‘A Journey Through A Decade.’
He is also enjoying his role as Co-Producer for charity production ‘Simply the Best 2023’ alongside his sister hosted by his family’s charity ‘BB with Love’ in association with Weston Park Cancer Charity.
