Jelani is thrilled to make his London professional debut as Hassan Khan/Luther Vandross in this production of I’m Every Woman.

He recently completed the China tour of Tick, Tick … Boom! as Michael (understudy). Prior to this, he trained at the Royal Academy of Music (High Distinction; Disney Theatrical Productions Scholarship), where he played The Balladeer/Lee Oswald in Assassins.

Regional musical theatre credits include Coalhouse in Ragtime, Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors, and Milo Davenport in An American in Paris. Other credits include Caliban in The Tempest, Jason in Medea, and Speed in The Two Gentlemen of Verona.

Jelani also holds a PhD (Rhodes Scholarship) focused on Jamaican political economy and justice. He merges his artistic and academic interests through multi-modal storytelling, community engagement, and scholarship.
