
Ella McLaughlin
Ella McLaughlin is a highly versatile musical-theatre performer, frequently praised for her professionalism, dedication, and collaborative spirit. Often recognised for her exceptional work ethic and the remarkable growth she has achieved during her training, she is driven by her determination, focus and passion for her craft. Ella is a performer who combines technical skill, with a warm and reliable presence in any rehearsal environment.
Her recent achievements include being a finalist in the Stephen Sondheim Society Student Performer of the Year Award (2025), performing at the Sondheim Theatre and working closely with Musical Director Nigel Lilley and Director Hannah Chissick. Her performance of “Loving You” from Passion was described by one reviewer as “spine-tingling” (’All That Dazzles’ Review by Daz Gale, 2025). Ella has also contributed to workshops and a development production of Kin: A New Musical (2022), demonstrating her skill in collaborative storytelling and ambition in creating new work.
Ella’s dance training started from a young age, developing foundations in ballet, tap, jazz and commercial styles before progressing to full-time musical theatre training at Emil Dale Academy, completing the BTEC course and now about to graduate from the BA Hons course. Here she has continued her dance training, with additional styles of Matt Mattox and contemporary dance, alongside Dance Captain and Swing training with Amy West and Matthew Ives. Ella is recognised for her strength, precision and attention to detail, while also demonstrating a natural ability to adapt to any style through her musicality and stylistic dance performance style.
As a singer, she brings a rich alto tone with warm and depth, pairing technical accuracy with expressive acting through song. Ella holds a captivating presence in her acting, drawing audiences fully into each performance with her subtlety and truthfulness.
