Matthew Brind
Matthew is an international composer, arranger and conductor. His work spans theatre, film, radio, television, pop and concerts. He has worked with various orchestras including the BBC Concert Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the English National Opera, the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, the Slovak National Symphony Orchestra, the Welsh Pops Orchestra and various session orchestras in London, Los Angeles and New York.
Matthew has been Musical Supervisor / Musical Director on various West End and Broadway musicals including Notre Dame De Paris (Lincoln Centre, New York and London Coliseum), Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (Playhouse Theatre), Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Savoy Theatre), Legally Blonde (Savoy Theatre) Desperately Seeking Susan (Novello Theatre), Me and My Girl (UK Tour).
Matthew was Musical Supervisor and Orchestrator for the new Tom Jones musical, What’s New Pussycat (Birmingham Rep 2021). Matthew also provided additional orchestrations for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Novello Theatre).
Matthew is Arranger / Orchestrator for the hit TV shows: America’s Got Talent, Britain’s Got Talent and X Factor UK, and was Musical Director / Arranger for the BBC’s primetime entertainment show Tonight’s the Night. His arrangements have also been heard on the Royal Variety Show, Last Night of the Proms, National Lottery Awards, Strictly Come Dancing and Any Dream Will Do.
Matthew produced and arranged “Rain on the Roof”, a Stephen Sondheim song for the final minutes of the hit movie Paddington 2. Other tv / film credits include Brassic (season 2) Sky, How to Build a Girl Film4.
Matthew has been arranger and conductor for three UK number one albums and three UK number one singles. He was arranger for the smash hit record “Rewrite the Stars” with James Arthur and Anne Marie.
Matthew also composes numerous musicals. His work includes Only the Brave, which ran at the Wales Millennium Centre in 2016, Santa’s Wish A New Christmas Musical, and the UK Tour of Mr Stink, original book by David Walliams.
