Spencer Soloman

Spencer trained at Sylvia Young's Stage School and The Royal Ballet School.

He started his career as a professional ballet dancer with the Birmingham Royal Ballet, Basel Ballet (Switzerland), Deutsche Oper Am Rhein and Duisburg (Germany). In his last years as a ballet dancer he was guesting as a soloist and principal with Berlin Deutsche Oper, Bonn Ballet and Opera De Nice Ballet (France).

He then debuted in the West End musical Chicago (Adelphi Theatre), playing Fogarty, Fred Casely and covering Amos Hart and Billy Flynn. Following that, he played the Head Waiter in Susan Stroman's Contact at the Queens Theatre. He then turned his hand to assisting at Jill Green Casting. His credits as an assistant include - The Producers (Drury Lane), Thoroughly Modern Millie (Shaftesbury), Cats (UK Tour), Beautiful and Damned (Lyric), Beyond The Sea (Feature Film).

Spencer has worked on many West End and Broadway shows such as Hairspray - Shaftesbury (resident choreographer & director), Parade - Donmar Warehouse (assistant choreographer), Guys & Dolls - Piccadilly (resident choreographer and director) A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum – National Theatre (associate choreographer), On Your Toes - Royal Festival Hall (resident choreographer), Candide - La Scala, Milan, (assistant choreographer) Pardon My English - City Centre, New York (assistant choreographer), and more recently, How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying – Al Hirstfeld Theatre, Broadway as Daniel Radcliffe's dance tutor.

The Trip (Steve Coogan) Grease Is The Word (assistant choreographer), Royal Variety Performance, Children In Need, Musicality, Blue Peter, Auf Wiedersehen Pet, Beyond The Sea - feature film (Dir: Kevin Spacey), and Gulliver's Travels - feature film (Dir: Rob Letterman). He also freelances in television and film as a camera operator/steadicam operator.

Spencer is an Honorary member of the IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) Directing/choreography/teaching at Arts Educational, Italia Conti Stage School, Millennium Performing Arts, Phil Winston's Theatreworks, MADD College, The Centre and the newly founded Renaissance-Arts.
