Nora-Jane Noone made her professional movie debut playing the leading role of BERNADETTE in Peter Mullan's film THE MAGDALENE SISTERS.

The movie won the Best Film prize in the 2002 Venice Film Festival, and was nominated as Best British Picture at the BAFTAs. Nora-Jane also won Best Actress in an Ensemble Role at The British Independent Film Awards.

Nora-Jane has just finished filming BEYOND THE RAVE in London with Jamie Dornan directed by Matthias Hoene, and also INSATIABLE in Ireland with John Kenny and Geraldine Plunkett directed by Jessie Kirby.  DOOMSDAY in South Africa with Bob Hoskins and Adrian Lester Directed by Neil Marshall and filming Bog Body in Dublin alongside Vinnie Jones directed by Brendan Foley. She has recently co-starred in the Celador feature, THE DESCENT directed by Neil Marshall, for which she was nominated Best Supporting Artist by the Irish Film and Television Awards, she played Juliet Van Der Bexton in Tony Herbert's film SPEED DATING soon to be released and the Miramax feature ELLA THE ENCHANTED. Other work includes the film NEWS FOR THE CHURCH written and directed by Andrew McCarthy, THE LISTENER directed by Michael Chang, and recorded WALKING AT RINGSEND for BBC Radio 4.

Nora-Jane's recent TV work includes Tessa in AFTERLIFE directed by Charles Beeson, Darryl in HOLBY CITY, directed by Richard Platt and Louise in Granada TV's CORONATION STREET.

Nora-Jane originates from Newcastle in County Galway, Ireland.

She trained for two years at the Performing Arts School in Galway, and is a proficient musician (piano to Grade 7 level) and dancer.
